BRUNSWICK, Ohio - The Medina County OVI Task Force was out in force. On Saturday, the task force conducted a sobriety checkpoint and saturation patrol in the City of Brunswick.
The checkpoint focused on SR 303, US 42, and Interstate 71. Police officers from Brunswick, Hinckley, Montville, Medina Township, Seville, the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol participated in the operation.
The checkpoint lasted three hours. There were 581 cars checked. Police said 23 cars were diverted for further investigation.
The saturation patrols resulted in 3 OVI arrests with BAC tests of .241, .195, and .167.
There were 38 traffic stops made resulting in citations for Driving Under Suspension, Speed, and
Safety Belt and numerous warnings.
