SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The Lorain Post Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-skip accident involving a 17-year-old and 4-year-old boys hit by a car on Clifton Avenue around 9:25 p.m. Wednesday.
According to a news release, the boys were walking north on Clifton when, according to a witness, a light colored Sedan hit the boys and knocked them to the ground. The vehicle left the scene without stopping, and no other information about the car is known.
A driver saw the boys lying in the roadway and took them to their home where their parents called 911.
Both boys were flown by helicopter from Lorain Mercy Hospital to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital in Cleveland. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after one witness reported the boys had been shot. No evidence was found suggesting any shots were fired.
