NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - Students from the North Ridgeville school system are serious about their education and want to see some positive changes beginning next month.
Several North Ridgeville students wrote original lyrics to a popular summer song and created a music video to help pass a 5.9-mill school levy that would reduce staff cuts, keep extra-curricular activities and improve school conditions in the district.
The video, titled "Vote 'Yes' on the North Ridgeville School Levy," is a parody to the song "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction and was produced by students from the North Ridgeville school district.
The YouTube video, published on Sept. 5, 2012, has been viewed more than 3,500 times and has received nearly 60 likes. The video shows the poor conditions inside the district's schools and the song's lyrics explain why the levy needs to be passed.

Lorain Co. Headlines
Video shows a Lorain playground that residents say has become a spot full of trouble being lit on fire.
Six people and a business have been indicted by the Lorain County Grand Jury for their role in a food stamp fraud operation, which contributed to $582,000 in fraud.
"Great job kids! I love that you are standing behind your school district. I hope this video helps," wrote one user, shannonperry85.
"The time really is now and the help would be amazing and everything is true. I go to the middle school and I can say amazing job with the video," wrote another user, vettegirl101.
The 5.9-mill levy would raise more than $4 million a year for the school district, which is suffering from a loss in state revenue.
The emergency levy will appear on the ballot in November, and if it fails, it will be on again in May.
