LORAIN, Ohio - The Coast Guard is searching the Black River for a possible missing boater after a 15-foot vessel from Spitzer Marina was found stranded on a beach.
The U.S. Coast Guard has now launched a helicopter to help with the search effort.
According to the Coast Guard, the boat was found with the throttle in the forward position with keys in the ignition.
The propeller was stuck in the sand.
The boat's owner was contacted and said he had last seen his boat at the Marina.
The boat was discovered by the U.S. Coast Guard Lorain Station, who was out training when they spotted the vessel on the beach just east of the break wall.
