GRAFTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A woman is dead after a crash on State Route 83 in Grafton Township Tuesday morning.
The Elyria Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that happened between State Route 303 and Law Road at 9:27 a.m.
They said Kimberly Blackley, 37, of Hilliard, Ohio, who was driving southbound in a 2012 Honda Accord, went left of center for an unknown reason and was then struck by Christopher Raatz, 52, of Louisville, Kentucky, who was driving northbound in a 2012 Freightliner Semi.
Both vehicles suffered heavy damage and had to be towed from the scene.
Raatz was taken to Medina Hospital by Grafton Township EMS for minor injuries. Blackley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lorain County Coroner’s Office.
Both of the drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to troopers.
The crash remains under investigation.
