NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - About 30 firefighters from five departments battled a two alarm fire in North Ridgeville Saturday evening.
The fire destroyed the Black Dog Pub."Everything I worked for my whole life, it's gone," said owner Sherry Seroka.
Matt Drda and Jacob Kane were passing the restaurant when they saw smoke." We thought they were just cooking some ribs on the grill. We came across the building and noticed the fire," said Kane.
Drda dialed 911 and tossed the phone to Kane who began capturing the images. Drda meantime ran to the restaurant. "We got the fire extinguisher out of the truck, nothing we could do. Jacob runs up, I run inside, people didn't know the outside of the building was on fire. I got people out," said Drda.
Fire officials said the building is a total loss. According to fire officials an outside smoker caused the fire. It started outside and spread to nearby propane tanks which exploded and caught the building on fire.
There were no injuries.
