LORAIN, Ohio - The suspect wanted in connection to the death of 17-year-old Deandre McDowell has surrendered to authorities.
Lorain police said Antonio Robles contacted them Wednesday saying he was turning himself in.
Authorities got the call around 10:30 a.m. from Charlotte, N.C. where Robles said he would meet police at a McDonald’s. Charlotte police were notified and arrested Robles at the fast-food restaurant.
Robles is awaiting extradition to Ohio.
McDowell's body was found on May 17 in the 3700 block of Lexington Ave. with a gunshot wound to his head. Police do not believe he was shot there, rather taken to the location where a passerby later found him.
An investigation determined Robles "recklessly caused" McDowell's death.
