LORAIN, Ohio - The Elyria Post of the State Highway Patrol has arrested 11 people in the past week on OVI charges.
The arrests were made throughout Lorain County. Those arrested range in age from 19-54.
In 2011, there were 9,878 alcohol-impaired driving fatalities nationally, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
That accounts for 31 percent of overall fatalities.
The total number of OVI arrests in Lorain County so far in January is 46.
It is a NewsChannel5 policy not to release the names of those arrested until they're officially charged.
