NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - North Ridgeville residents have been on high alert after a series of burglaries and now, four teens are in police custody.
At about 11 a.m. Monday, a resident called police about two suspicious young men. North Ridgeville tried to pull over their car, but the teens kept driving for another half mile before making a run for it.
Officers caught up with the driver, who was running through backyards. The 17-year-old was taken to the police station, where he was questioned.
North Ridgeville police said a nearby home had been burglarized and they found some of the stolen items inside the teens’ car.
Later Monday evening, officers arrested three more suspects, ages 17, 16 and 14, in the area of Route 20 and state Route 83, police said. All four are from Elyria.
North Ridgeville police would not say if this burglary is connected to the other incidents and added the investigating is ongoing.
