Man charged in string of break-ins in Elyria, including American Legion and Twist and Shake

CLEVELAND - Police in Lorain County have arrested a man in connection with a string of break-ins that included the American Legion.

Elyria police said 26-year-old Benjamin Krugman was arrested at a house on Gulf Road late Monday night following an ongoing investigation.

He has been charged with five counts of breaking and entering and one count of tampering with evidence. The charges are connected to two burglaries at the American Legion on Ohio Street, two at Twist and Shake on Cleveland Street and one at Ten 2 Ten on Cleveland Street.

Detectives said additional charges are possible against Krugman in the case. He is being held in the Lorain County Jail on $100,000 bond.
