LORAIN, Ohio - Osiris Boyer, the Lorain mother who left her five children home alone, appeared in court Wednesday morning.
Boyer pleaded not guilty to five counts of child endangering for leaving three boys and two girls, the oldest only 4-years-old, home alone in what police called deplorable conditions.
According to Lorain police, the children had not eaten all day and the refrigerator had only moldy lasagna and four beers inside. Bedrooms were littered with garbage and had no beds, only mattresses lying around the house.
The children are currently with their father as the couple is going through a divorce.
Boyer faces a possible sentence of 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine on each of the charges if she is found guilty.
