AVON, Ohio - Beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 2, Ohio Department of Transportation crews working on the new Lear/Nagel interchange along I-90 are planning to reduce traffic to two lanes in the eastbound direction in order to complete the painting of steel beams.
The closure will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
ODOT said that delays are to be expected, especially for the morning rush.
The recommended construction zone speed at this particular sight has been reduced from 65 to 55 mph.
The lane closures are in effect as extra precaution for worker safety after a 63-year-old worker was struck and killed on September 12 while painting the overpass near the westbound traffic.
The I-90 overpass and Lear/Nagel interchange project is expected to be completed in September 2013.
