Funeral set for North Ridgeville hiker who died while on expedition in British Columbia, Canada

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio - Funeral arrangements have been made for a North Ridgeville hiker who died while on an expedition near Terrace, British Columbia, Canada in July.

The family of Warren Sill, 26, said he died on July 5, 2012 while hiking the mountains.

Memorial visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd. in North Ridgeville. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

A 10 a.m. Memorial Mass will follow at St. Peter Catholic Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd. in North Ridgeville.

Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Sill was a 2004 graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He went on to college where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Kent State University in 2008.

The 26-year-old was previously employed at Westfield Insurance as a computer repair/help desk advisor. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a resident assistant and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity while at KSU.

Sports, especially fantasy football, animals and children were a few of Sill's favorite things.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in care of the Sill family to aid the many search and rescue teams for their volunteer hours.
