AVON, Ohio - Authorities in Avon say foul play is not suspected after a man's body was found in a pond Wednesday night.
Police received a call about a man's body floating in a pond at the Village at Avon Apartment Complex on Chester Road.
The man's wife called police around 10 p.m. reporting she hadn't seen him since 7 p.m. when he went to take the dog for a walk.
Rescue crews found the man's body and performed CPR. They were unable to revive him.
The 54-year-old was later taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It's unclear if the man drowned or if he experienced a medical issue while walking his dog. The dog was found sitting on the walkway near the pond and is back home with the man's wife.
An autopsy is pending.
