LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio - Lorain County is offering flu shots in the month of January, as a nasty flu season surges on.
Immunization clinics will be held on the following dates at these locations:
Jan. 8: 4-6:30 p.m. at Vincent Elementary School
Jan. 9: 3-5:30 p.m. at Grafton Community Room
Jan. 15: 4-6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church
Jan. 22: 1:30-4 p.m. at Amherst VFW
Health officials are urging Americans to get flu shots in the midst of the earliest and worst flu outbreak in a decade.
More than 2,200 people have been hospitalized and 18 children have died from the flu this season. Eighteen states are reaching epidemic level, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
At least five more weeks remain in flu season.
