LORAIN, Ohio - Her name is January. The first 12 weeks for this pup have not been easy. Her owner left her starving and dehydrated at the Ohio Pet Placement Foundation in Lorain, Ohio.
On Friday, Jan. 25, a blue car pulled into the parking lot of the Ohio Pet Placement Foundation. A man carried a dog under his arm and abandoned her in the entranceway of the building. The entire incident was captured on security video.
"The dog is severely under nourished and dehydrated. She's about 10 pounds under weight for her age," said Heather Lange of the Ohio Pet Placement Foundation.
Lange wants people to know that if for any reason you are unable to take care of your pet, there are always options.
"If you are unable to take care of your animal, contact us or contact another rescue. Don't wait until your dog or cat is in this kind of condition," said Lange.
January is continuing to do well. She has gained some weight, but will not be able to be put up for adoption for a few weeks.
"She's doing great. She's been eating non-stop since she got here," said Lange.
If you have any information regarding the man in the video please contact the Ohio Pet Placement Foundation at 440-277-7400.
