EATON TOWNSHIP, Ohio - An Olmsted Falls man is dead and another injured after a motorcycle collision with a deer in Lorain County Wednesday night.
The Elyria Highway Patrol Post said Bruce D. Oberacker, 51, was killed after hitting a deer with his motorcycle at about 9 p.m. on Island Road just south of Capel Road in Eaton Township. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charles Bigam, 52, of Olmsted Falls, was riding his motorcycle behind Oberacker, troopers said. He lost control trying to avoid hitting Oberacker and the deer.
Bigam was injured and flown by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
Troopers said Oberacker and Bigam were both ejected from their motorcycles and neither were wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
