LORAIN, Ohio - City of Lorain water customers are being asked to conserve water until further notice.

The Lorain County Office of Emergency Management said the Lorain water distribution facility is operating on emergency generator power because of the power outages affecting thousands.

“The use of emergency generator power is hindering the city’s ability to supply drinking water,” the EMA said.

The customers impacted by this request include the entire city of Lorain, and parts of Amherst, Amherst Township, Sheffield Lake and Sheffield Township.
