AVON, Ohio - A man is facing charges after a worker was killed in a crash in the construction zone on Interstate 90 in Avon earlier this month.
Anthony J. Rose, Jr. turned himself in at the Avon Police Department on Thursday. Police said he is charged with assured clear distance ahead and vehicular manslaughter.
On Sept. 12, 63-year-old Peter Maglis, of Campbell, Ohio, was hit and pinned between two vehicles in the Nagel Road interchange project, police said.
Witnesses wrapped up the victim’s amputated leg, but his injuries were too critical. Maglis died at the Avon Emergency Care Center before being flown to another hospital.
Rose was released on bond and is set to appear in Avon Lake Municipal Court on Oct. 4.
