Amherst man dies after motorcycle crash

ELYRIA, Ohio - A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle at about 2:34 p.m. Saturday in Carlisle Township near Elyria.

Donald James, 71, of Amherst was driving a 2001 Harley Davidson Road King south on West Ridge Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road. James was transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries.

Investigators from the Ohio State Highway Patrol believe alcohol was a factor in this crash.

James was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
