LORAIN, Ohio - The community gathered at Lorain County Community College for a Call to Duty Ceremony to send off local troops Friday morning.
About 95 soldiers from the Ohio Army National Guard's 837th Engineer Company based out of the Lorain Armory, are deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The soldiers will first go to Fort Bliss, Texas for training. Once finished there, the unit will head to Afghanistan on a mission to provide mobility support operations and search for road side bombs.

The city-wide yard sale in North Ridgeville started Wednesday.
It was a packed house at North Ridgeville City Hall Monday night. Dozens turned out for a City Council meeting, calling for the humane officer responsible for shooting five kittens, to be terminated.
