LORAIN, Ohio - An Illinois man was arrested in Lorain County after troopers say they found more than 3,000 counterfeit hats.
Tae Hone Park, 41, of Glenview, Ill., was pulled over on the Ohio Turnpike on Wednesday for a marked lane violation, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
While speaking with Park, the state trooper noticed stacks of baseball hats in the car. During a search, troopers found a total of 3,116 counterfeit ball hats, with an estimated value of more than $62,000, the patrol said.
According to the highway patrol, the hats featured fake logos for NFL, NBA and MLB teams, as well at the Ohio State University and Monster Energy drink.
Park was taken to the Lorain County Jail and charged with trademark counterfeiting, which is a fourth-degree felony.
