OBERLIN, Ohio - One of the big hits at the Sundance Film Festival was "Beasts Of The Southern Wild.' It's a fantasy that unleashes ancient aurochs, or monsters into the world as a result of melting ice caps. A 6-year-old girl learns about courage and love as the story unfolds.

It's the story behind the story that has Don and Evelyn Bryant of Oberlin, Ohio excited.

Their daughter, Kate played a crucial role in training pot-bellied pigs. Those were the animals used to portray the aurochs.

"They had a great script and a great idea. It started out as a bunch of friends going down to New Orleans to make a film," said Don Bryant, Kate's dad.

Unlike many of today's movies, real animals were used as opposed to simply using digital technology to create the monsters.

"Beasts Of The Southern Wild" is nominated for Best Achievement in Directing, Best Motion Picture, Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role and Best Writing and Screenplay.
