ELYRIA, Ohio - Follow the Fish is set to cast off as part of a marketing campaign to show the good things in Lorain County.
The idea for the fish sculptures is to marry local artists and businesses. The displays will be available until October.
The fish used in the artwork are walleye and perch and designed by Jim Gundlach. About 25 artists from the area are creating their unique design for the fish.
Students from Lorain County Community College, Lorain County Joint Vocational School and area high schools are pitching in to get these fish sea-worthy for their debut.
Joan Perch, who is the gallery and operations coordinator at the Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County Community College, is heading up “Follow the Perch”.
Maps with the fish locations will be provided and residents can follow the trail to more local artwork.
The adventure begins Sunday with a kick-off party at the Legacy Restaurant and Grille in Avon Lake from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information you can go to facebook.com/FollowTheFishArtAndAdventureTrails
