LORAIN, Ohio - Troopers seized 390 grams of heroin, worth more than $58,000 during a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike in Lorain County Wednesday.
Troopers stopped a 2007 GMC Envoy with Pennsylvania registration for a marked lanes violation on the Ohio Turnpike, near milepost 140, in Lorain County at 3:43 p.m.
Troopers said criminal indicators were observed and a drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search showed the heroin.
Two Pennsylvania women, 36-year-old Bernadette McClain and 23-year-old Chelsea Page were charged with possession of heroin, a first-degree felony, and put in Lorain County Jail.
Maximum penalties for a conviction are as many as 10 years in prison and as much as a $20,000 fine.
