3-year-old Parma boy dies after found in pool in Columbia Township

COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A toddler died after he apparently drowned in a pool in Lorain County over the weekend.
According to Sgt. Don Barker with the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, the 3-year-old was being watched by relatives at a house on Meadow Trail in Columbia Township Saturday.
Barker said the boy apparently wandered out of the house – and when family members realized he was gone, they looked and found him in the pool.
The child was taken to Southwest General Health Center in Middleburg Heights, where he later died.
The incident appears to be an accident, Barker said.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the boy as George Teconchuk of Parma.
Barker said the case is still under investigation.
