AVON, Ohio - From prom attire to sculptures of eyeglasses and a boom box, it's all things duct tape in Avon this weekend.
Among the attractions at the 10th annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival are a fashion show with dresses made of duck tape that were featured on Season 11 of "Project Runway" and life-sized duck tape sculptures made by art students at the University of Cincinnati.
Duct tape has been a part of our lives since World War ll.
"It was developed so that soldiers could seal their ammunition boxes and protect the ammunition from water," said Ami DeWille, senior brand manager for Duck Tape. "After the war, it came back to the US and quickly became America's favorite fix-all."
The festival runs through Sunday at Veteran's Memorial Park in Avon.
