WILLOUGHBY, Ohio - Who’s the fastest roofer in Lake County? Roofers were put to the test and had some fun Wednesday with a friendly competition.
Apollo Supply in Willoughby held its first “Fastest Roofer in Lake County” contest at its Spring Product Show by getting customers to compete in shingling a section of a roof.
Timperio Roofing won the competition, completing a 2 square foot roof in 10 minutes.
The two-man teams were judged on:
1. Speed, timed completion including cutting edges and capping.
2. Accuracy of nailing patterns, using the 4 nail nailing pattern judged on a scale rating 1 thru 5, 5 being the top score.
3. Exposure including straightness also rated using the 1 thru 5 scale, 5 being the top score.
Apollo also raised money for Lake County’s Habitat for Humanity. Each team donated $40 and Apollo Supply matched all donations.
“We would like to thank our customer’s for their years of business and will continue to be a leader in the wholesale building materials industry. Stop by our newly renovated office and we will do all we can to make your next job more affordable and stress-free,” a company statement said.
