MENTOR, Ohio - A Mentor middle school created a music video to help get students ready for the new school year.
The video, titled "Teachers Who Care," is a parody to the song "Voices That Care" and produced by staff at Ridge Middle School.
The school district said a principal and teacher came up with the idea – and then the teacher wrote the lyrics in his spare time.
Students watched the video at an assembly this week, and staff said they hope it will establish a positive relationship between teachers and their students. The staff said they don't mind being a little silly in a video like that if it helps their students better relate to them to start the year.
Classes in Mentor resumed on Wednesday.
