MENTOR, Ohio - The Skate Dance Dream show was held in Mentor on Saturday, April 28 at the Mentor Civic Arena.
Skate Dance Dream is a figure skating and dance show that incorporates local talent with nationally recognized skating and dance stars.
Parker Pennington, local skater and four-time U.S. Figure Skating champion, first developed this unique concept in 2011 with the first Skate Dance Dream show which took place in Wooster.
Saturday’s show in Mentor was performed in front of a sold out crowd of 1,200 and featured figure skaters Ross Miner (2-Time U.S. National Bronze medalist and World Team member); Lynn Kriengkrairut & Logan Giulietti-Schmitt (U.S. National Pewter medalist in ice dancing); Sean Rabbitt (U.S. National Senior Men’s competitor and Producer of Skater’s Care) and dancer Comfort Fedoke (Season 7 & 8 All Star and Season 4, top 8 finalist from Fox’s “So You Think You Can Dance").
Pennington said the highlight of the show for him was to see the smiles on the faces of the kids who were able to participate in the show.
“The Stars did an incredible job as well--both performance-wise and leading by example, inspiring the kids at every opportunity throughout the show weekend,” Pennington said.
An open skate was held after the show for families and skaters—even dancer Comfort Fedoke took the ice.
