CLEVELAND - A now-retired Cleveland police detective was in Cuyahoga County court Thursday in front of Judge Kathleen Ann Sutula.
Paul Jones, 64, pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated burglary, attempted rape gross sexual imposition and kidnapping on Nov. 29.
Jones was conducting an investigation at the 24-year-old victim's residence. While the investigation was being conducted, the victim maintains that Jones exposed himself and attempted to force the victim to perform sexual acts.
The victim notified her building manager after Jones exited and the manager then called police.
DNA was collected at the scene and subsequently matched Paul Jones after testing.
Jones' next court appearance will be on Feb. 16 with a pre-trial scheduled before Judge Maureen E. Clancy.
