EASTLAKE, Ohio - A truck ripped down power lines from a house in a hit-skip incident in Eastlake Tuesday night.
Police said they were dispatched the East 349th Street at 3:53 p.m. for a report of downed wires caused by a truck that had left the area.
At the scene, the power line, cable line and telephone line were observed to be torn from the house, along with a front fascia board. The electrical meter was also torn from the house and hanging, police said.
The homeowner said the driver got out of the truck, saw wires down and told the homeowner “sorry” while talking on the phone, before leaving.
Police said the driver responded to officers and provided insurance information for the homeowner to pay for damages.
