MENTOR, Ohio - Mentor firefighters and the humane society rescued a Pomeranian from a culvert pipe on Monday.
Fire officials said they believe the small dog spent most of the weekend stuck in the pipe near Bellflower Park. The pup was about 12 feet into the pipe and concerned residents tried to wave pork chops at the dog to coax it out, but that didn’t work.
"We got him to come out of the hole, and then he took off," Fire Lt. Rob Gandee told our news partners at Mentor Patch . "He was like a bullet he moved so fast and then went and hid in the brush."
The Pomeranian also tried to bite a firefighter once it was brought to safety.
