EASTLAKE, Ohio - An Eastlake bank was robbed Saturday morning by a man police believe has robbed other banks in the Lake County area.
The Eastlake Police Department said the Dollar Bank at 34829 Vine Street was robbed at 9:30 a.m. by the same individual suspected of robbing banks in Willowick, Willoughby and Wickliffe.
The suspect, John Caputo II, is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall weighing around 155 pounds with black hair (balding) and hazel eyes.
Caputo allegedly drove a 2000 silver Plymouth Voyager Van to the Dollar Bank and approached a teller with a note demanding cash. He then fled Dollar bank directly after receiving the cash heading west bound on State Route 2 towards Cleveland.
Caputo was suspected in the robbery investigations and it is believed he went to East Cleveland where he has been staying during his alleged robbery sprees.
Anyone with information regarding Caputo can contact the Eastlake Police Department Detective Bureau at 440-951-1400.
