PAINESVILLE TWP., Ohio - A Painesville Township bar fight ends with two people wounded.
The Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a fight at McTaggarts Bar on Mentor Avenue early Sunday morning. Officers responding were told that shots were being fired at the bar while they were en route to the scene.
When officers arrived, they stopped a vehicle that was quickly leaving the bar's parking lot. The passenger in the vehicle was a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound.
Painesville Township Rescue arrived and took the injured man to Tri-Point ER. He was taken by Lifeflight to MetroHealth Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Mutual aid from Painesville City, Fairport Harbor, Grand River, and North Perry Village also responded to the scene. When they arrived, another victim, a 21-year-old woman, was found with a superficial gunshot wound to her right leg. She was treated and released from Tri-Point ER.
Witnesses told police on scene that a black male was the shooter. The man had fled the scene before officers arrived.
