LAKE COUNTY, Ohio - Police are investigating after two separate hit-skip accidents in Lake County.
Eastlake police said on Monday, officers were called to State Route 91 near State Route 2 around 10:51 p.m. On scene, officers determined a vehicle waiting to turn onto westbound State Route 2 from 91 was struck by a silver four-door vehicle. The impact damaged the passenger front and middle areas of the victim’s car. Officers collected paint chips from the suspect vehicle as evidence for the Lake County Crime Lab to test.
In Willoughby, officers are investigating a hit-skip accident involving a pedestrian. Officers said around 11 p.m. Saturday, a 91-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while crossing Erie Street. According to police, the man was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident. The victim was treated at Lake West Hospital for his injuries.
No arrests have been made in either incident.
