PAINESVILLE, Ohio - An officer is injured during a search in a home.
A narcotics search warrant was executed at a home on Henry Street in Painesville at 4pm Friday.
When the Police Warrant Entry Team went into the home, a dog bit one of the officers.
The officer shot the dog twice.
A 34-year-old Painesville man was arrested for trafficking and possession of heroin, and a 20-year-old Mentor woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
The suspects names are being withheld at this time.
The injured officer was treated and later released from Tri Point Medical Center. The Lake County Dog Warden responded to the scene, where they took custody of the injured dog.
