PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - A motorcycle driver is dead, his passenger recovering in the hospital after their Harley-Davidson collided with a car Sunday afternoon in Perry Township.
The fatal crash happened around 2:45 p.m.
The Chardon post of the State Highway Patrol said Kenneth Janz, 48, of Eastlake, was riding his soft tail eastbound on US 20 when the bike and a Saturn, which was turning onto Lane Road, collided.
Both Janz and his 30-year-old passenger were ejected.
Janz was pronounced dead at the scene by the Lake County coroner. His passenger was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
OSHP said neither were wearing helmets.
The 18-year-old driver of the Saturn and his 15-year-old passenger were not hurt. Both were wearing seatbelts.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the wreck.
The crash remains under investigation.
