MENTOR, Ohio - If you're already thinking about what to do with all of the Halloween candy from trick-or-treat, a Mentor dentist has an answer.
Dr. Stephen Carosello wants to buy back your Halloween candy and then send it to U.S. troops.
On Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can bring your bags of unopened Halloween candy to the dental office, located at 9500 Mentor Avenue, Suite 280, and get $1 per pound, up to a maximum of $5 per family.
The candy, along with toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss, will be sent overseas to the troops. It's Dr. Carosello's way of saying "thank you" for helping to keep our country safe.
"I feel a strong need to do something for our men and women in uniform," Dr. Carosello said in a news release. "Most of us have so much to be thankful for, why not show gratitude to our troops by sending some sweet treats?"
Dr. Carosello is one of a number of dentists across the country pledging both time and money for the candy buy back program.
