MENTOR, Ohio - Mentor has a new mascot and her name is “Mischief.”
In January the city sponsored a contest for kids to name the new mouse mascot which they plan to use for special events with kids, mainly at the Mentor Civic Arena.
The city received about 20 entries and then narrowed their selection to three. In the end, it was 10-year-old Eastlake native Payton Noggy’s suggestion of “Mischief” that won the top prize.
When asked where she came up with the name, Noggy said it was one of her recent spelling words for school.
On Feb. 4 Noggy was invited to ice rink to meet and skate with Mischief. She was able to get her picture taken and was awarded a certificate. Afterwards, families were invited to stay for an open skate session with “Mischief.”
