EASTLAKE, Ohio - A Cleveland man said he was shot while he was parked in the lot of a Lake County Walmart store Monday.
Eastlake police said the 27-year-old victim told investigators he pulled in to go shopping and was seated in his car at the Eastlake store when a man he didn't know entered the passenger side of his car and demanded he hand over "everything he had." The man then apparently shot the victim in the side of the chest and fled the area.
The victim drove himself to Lake West Hospital in Willoughby, where staff called police at about 11 p.m. He was later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment, where police said he's in stable condition.
Police are reviewing surveillance video from Walmart to get more information in the case.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Eastlake police at 440-951-1400.
