EASTLAKE, Ohio - A man died after a struggle between two men and a woman at an apartment in Eastlake Wednesday night.

The incident happened in the 36500 block of Vine Street at about 7 p.m.

Eastlake police said in a news release that a man and woman were inside the man’s apartment. A former associate of the woman came to the door and started banging on it, so both the man and woman answered the door.

The man who was pounding on the door then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the man inside the apartment, police said. The two got into a fight and the man inside the apartment suffered head injuries.

Police said the woman then knocked the suspect to the floor and held there until officers arrived at the scene.

The suspect was taken to Lake West Hospital in Willoughby, where he died.

Police said they’re not releasing the names of anyone involved until the incident is further investigated and notifications are made.
