EASTLAKE, Ohio - Eastlake police are investigating an assault case at a local school that left a teacher and school resource officer injured.
According to police, the assault happened Friday around noon at Kennedy Academy when a school resource officer tried breaking up a fight.
One teen girl was sent to another room to “cool off,” but the other wanted to keep fighting.
Police said the 17-year-old threw a punch at the school officer, hitting the officer in the face. She then hit a teacher in the head, police said.
The teen was taken into custody and charged with misdemeanor and felony assault.
It’s not known was sparked the fight between the teens.
