MENTOR, Ohio - A benefit is planned for the Mentor family whose home was destroyed when an alleged drunken driver crashed into their home in December.
Tonya Blare, her fiancé Christopher Lukasiewicz and the couple's two children, Christopher and Cassie, have been temporarily staying at a friend's home since the incident.
Lukasiewics and 3-year-old Christopher were seriously injured and still recovering from the crash.
The Mentor community has donated clothes, gifts and money to the family who said they are grateful but need more help.
A benefit is planned for Saturday, Feb. 16 at the LaMalfa Party Center in Mentor. It starts at 6:30 p.m. and is $45 for adults and $10 for children.
The fundraiser includes dinner, entertainment, a Chinese auction and raffles. All of the money will go toward helping the family. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Shaina Luptak at 440-221-8606.
