EASTLAKE, Ohio - An 11-year-old boy and his older brother, 15, face criminal charges after being turned into police by their father.
Eastlake police posted on the department’s Facebook page that the boys’ father caught them spray painting a bike that did not belong to them.
When neither child would admit to where they got the bike, the boys’ father called the police.
The boys subsequently admitted to stealing the bicycle from Manor Park Apartments before riding to Mentor to steal the spray paint.
Eastlake police charged the 11-year-old boy with theft. His older brother was charged with complicity.
Officers said because this is not the boys’ first offense, they will be referred to Eastlake Juvenile Court.
