WICKLIFFE, Ohio - There are some times in life where helping those in need makes an impact that can only be measured by the feelings of joy and pride that fills your heart, knowing that you did make a difference.
Saturday, Jan. 28, from 4-7 p.m, you can have a chance like this by attending a dog fashion show at Club K-9, located at 30400 Lakeland Blvd. in Wickliffe. It benefits Marilyn's Voice, a local volunteer dog rescue group.
You and your canine companion can walk the runway with your pooch dressed, in what can only be called "woof couture" and have your picture taken in a Paris street scene.
Now if that's not enough fun for you, appetizers will be also served, as well as available beers, wines and sodas. A DJ will spin the tunes and a Chinese auction of donated items will be offered throughout the evening as well as a 50/50 raffle. The per person price is $30 and that enables you to show up to two dogs on the runway in fashion show.
Designs from Diva 'n Dapper Dogs will be featured, but participants' dogs are encouraged to dress up as well. Gold, silver and bronze trophies will be awarded in the male and female categories.
All funds raised from this event will go toward veterinarian care of the rescued animals, which come from puppy mills, overcrowded shelters and other unfortunate situations. These animals are in dire straits when they arrive and are placed into foster homes to receive the care and love that they desperately need.
Marilyn's Voice's is a 501(c) (3) registered non-profit corporation. They are a 100 percent volunteer organization and are supported by adoption fees and donations. All of the rescued animals are cared for in private foster homes until their adoption into screened and approved homes where they will be loved as a family pet.
