WILLOUGHBY, Ohio - Dash cam video of the crash that killed Willoughby Police Officer Jason Gresko will be released Thursday morning.
Police said the video shows Officer Gresko responding to a call for assistance and traveling northbound on Harmony Lane. They said he activated his emergency lights as he slowed down for a stop sign at the Jack Reinhardt Avenue intersection, then continued northbound on Harmony Lane with his emergency lights activated.
As Officer Gresko approached the 5100 block of Harmony Lane, a slow-moving pick-up truck that appeared to be yielding to the patrol car turned left in front of him, according to police.
They said Gresko attempted to avoid the truck, going off the right side of the road and hitting a tree.
The crash happened on Sept. 21 and remains under an investigation expected to last several more weeks.
