EASTLAKE, Ohio - A Cleveland man was arrested and charged with assisting two other suspects pickpocket elderly women earlier this summer.
Eastlake Police along with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Michael Sailes, 54, of Cleveland. Sailes is accused of diverting the attention of elderly women while one of his two accomplices steals wallets, credit cards and checkbooks from the victims.
Police said the incidents occurred on June 12, 16 and July 22 by the same three suspects.
The accomplices are actively being sought.
Sailes was charged with three counts of felony theft, one misdemeanor count of misuse of credit card and two additional misdemeanor counts of theft.
Sailes also has a felony warrant issued by another agency. He is currently being held at Lake County Jail.
