EASTLAKE, Ohio - Three Eastlake teens accused of stealing cash from a school fundraiser have been charged.
Eastlake police said the North High School students were arrested Thursday, May 3 after surveillance cameras captured a 16-year-old stealing the funds from another student’s backpack.
Police later arrested and charged two other students, a 14-year-old and 15-year-old, with receiving stolen property after learning the group planned to split the stolen money.
Of the $71 collected, police recovered $39.25. The three teens have been ordered to pay back the remaining missing cash.
