Bold break-ins: Lake County crooks strike during day, at restaurant

LAKE CO., Ohio - Police are searching for at least two thieves after a pair of break-ins in Lake County.

Officers with the Eastlake Police Department posted to the department's Facebook page that they are investigating after a home was broken into during the day.

According to police, on Friday, August 31, someone forced their way into a home along the 1200 block of East 332nd Street near Willowick Drive and stole valuables. Officers said the break-in happened between 8:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m.

Anyone with information on this break-in is asked to call Eastlake Police at 440-951-1400.

Officers with the Willoughby Police Department posted on the department's Facebook page that they are investigating after a vehicle was broken into at a local restaurant.

According to police, on Saturday September 1, a parked Mazda was broken into while its owner dined at the Cracker Barrel restaurant at 6055 Som Center Road.

When the vehicle owner returned from dinner around 8:30 p.m., he discovered his rear window had been smashed out. He reported a black and white leather purse and digital camera stolen from the vehicle.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to call Willoughby Police at (440) 953-4212.

No arrests have been made in either case.
